Trying to open documents from main screen results in an error message «Server Error in ‘/’ Application»
Most common cause and suggested solutions:
1. Attachments can't be opened together from the front page in E-Doc.
Caused by the fact that the files received cannot be merged into 1 PDF, typically because some of the files are not PDF format, but for instance Excel or Word files.
Solution.
Open attachments one by one, and choose appropriate software to open the archived file., ie. XLS/XLSX files must be opened using Excel, txt in Notepad or Word.
- In the main screen. Double-click on the declaration line in question.
- Here you get access to the archived files separately as they have ben received or uploaded.
2. PDF document properties/settings. Document collection not allowed.
Upon original creation of the PDF, the author/creator defined in their settings that the specific document can’t be part of document collection or be merged with other PDF files.
As a rule, it is difficult or impossible for the customs representative to do anything about the cause, as it depends on settings set by who first created the PDF file.
This can typically be an invoice, where the settings are set so that it cannot be merged with other PDF files or be included in a so-called document collection.
3. Attachments/files received from customs representative are corrupt/damaged/invalid
Solution, contact the creator of the PDF (supplier or customs representative) to request new attachments if necessary. E-Doc is not able to repair a damaged/corrupt file that has been received.
