Emma Compliance - Upload of Customs Statistics: Invalid VAT ID

Error message received when customs statistics file have been uploaded but will not read

The VAT ID or organization number found in the file does not match the selected Emma Compliance account, or the VAT ID does not have an active Emma Compliance subscription.

  • The VAT id used as either importer or exporter of record used in the declaration is not the same as the E-Doc account.

  • Incorrect declarations must be corrected. Contact the responsible customs representative.
  • Lack of correction may prevent the right to deduct import VAT or Tax VAT claim for exports.

Make sure that your goods supplier issue detailed and correct invoices including the VAT id of buyer/seller in order to reduce number of declarations made on the incorrect trader of record.
