How to understand IM/A and IM/D in DMS Import
When working with DMS Import (the new Danish Customs declaration system for importing goods), you must choose the correct standard declaration type. One of the key choices you’ll make is between IM/A and IM/D declaration
IM/A vs. IM/D Import Declaration Types
When creating an import declaration in DMS Import, you must choose between IM/A and IM/D.
-
IM/A is used when the goods have already arrived in the EU.
-
IM/D is used when the goods have not yet arrived and the declaration is submitted in advance (pre-lodged).
Choosing the correct declaration type is important to avoid delays or corrections during customs clearance.
